Visit of Nika Gilauri, Georgian Prime Minister, to José Manuel Barroso: extracts from the joint press briefing
On 17 March 2010, José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, welcomed Nika Gilauri, Georgian Prime Minister, by reaffirming the Commission's strong commitment to stability and democracy in Georgia, and his firm support for Georgia's territorial integrity and conflict resolution efforts. Both leaders expressed their hope to start soon the negotiations on the future Association Agreement and Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA). He congratulated Nika Gilauri for the progress already made in eradicating corruption and reforming the justice sector.
