Copenhague Climate Change 2009 Conference (COP15): final joint press conference by Fredrik Reinfeldt, Swedish Prime Minister and President of the Council of the EU, and José Manuel Barroso

On 19/12/2009, at the end of the Copenhagen conference, heads of States and government agreed to limit global warming to 2C. Developed countries also agreed on $25bn and $30bn in climate funds for poorer nations over the period 2010-12, with an annual sum of $100bn envisaged by 2020. José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC said that Copenhagen was a first step, but that there was a need for many more steps in the future.
