Seretse Khana Ian Khama, President of Botswana, visited José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, on 2 June 2009 in Brussels. They spoke about how the economic crisis is affecting Bostwana, one of whose main resources are diamonds, and also about the relations with other countries in the region, mainly with Zimbabwe. (The European Commission has announced an allocation of 8 million euro to support vulnerable people affected by the breakdown of essential health and water supply services in Zimbabwe.
