Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs: extracts from the joint press conference by Xavier Bertrand and Vladimir Spidla

Xavier Bertrand, French Minister for Labour, Labour Relations, Family and Solidarity and President in office of the Council of the EU, and Vladimír Špidla, Member of the EC in charge of Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, gave a joint press conference at the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council. The Council discussed the proposal on implementing the principle of equal treatment between persons respective of religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation; the implementation of the common principles of flexicurity; the adoption of the decision of the EP and the Council on the European year for combating poverty and social exclusion (2010).
