Extracts from the joint press briefing by Nikola Špirić, President of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Olli Rehn
Following his meeting with Nikola Špirić, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Olli Rehn, Member of the EC in charge of Enlargement, told journalists that the reforms in the country should move now to the top of the political agenda.
All leaders need to understand that current lack of consensus on key European reforms and constitutional evolution is not helping the country's progress on its road towards the EU; the Commissioner added referring to the current political instability in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Nikola Špirić said he hoped to receive a positive progress report from the European Commission in October. A positive progress report would certainly motivate and create additional potential in his country to be very committed to accelerate Bosnia's path towards the EU which he thinks is the most important thing for everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
