On 22 July 2015, the European Commission and the European Investment Bank (EIB) signed the EFSI agreement setting out the working methods between the European Commission and the EIB.
This package of measures will ensure that the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) is up and running by early autumn 2015, keeping the ambitious timetable set by Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the EC, to implement the Investment Plan for Europe. The package includes a Communication on the role of National Promotional Banks (NPBs) in supporting the Investment Plan for Europe.
This video shows the signature of this agreement and a press conference given by Jean-Claude Juncker, Jyrki Katainen, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness, and Werner Hoyer, President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), on this occasion.
