Press conference by George Pufan, Member of the Court of Auditors, on ECA Special Report n° 21/2014 "EU-funded airport infrastructures: poor value for money"

According to Special Report No 21/2014 "EU-funded airport infrastructures: poor value for money", published by the European Court of Auditors on 16 December 2014, the EU-funded investments in airports have not produced the desired results and have proven to be poor value for money. According to the Court’s auditors, in the absence of adequate planning and forecasting, some of the funded airports were located too close to each other, while certain construction projects were too large for the number of aeroplanes and passengers in question. The report was presented by George Pufan, Member of the European Court of Auditors, and Luc T'joen, Team Leader at the European Court of Auditors, at a press conference in Brussels.
