International talks on the situation in Ukraine: extracts from the joint press conference by Catherine Ashton and John Kerry

Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the EC, held a joint press conference with John Kerry, US Secretary of State, on 17 April 2014, in Geneva, following the international talks on the situation in Ukraine. The Representatives of the European Union, the United States, Ukraine and Russia agreed on initial concrete steps to de-escalate tensions and restore security for all citizens. They underlined the importance of economic and financial stability in Ukraine.
