EU-Myanmar Task Force: speech by Catherine Ashton

On 13 November 2013, Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the EC, participated in the 1st EU-Myanmar Task Force with Soe Thein, Minister of the President's Office of Myanmar/Burma. The purpose of the Task Force was to provide comprehensive support to the transition in Burma/Myanmar by bringing together all of the tools and mechanisms – both political and economic (development aid, peace process support, investments) – available to the EU. On this occasion, they gave an opening speech in Yangon.
