Antonio Tajani, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Industry and Entrepreneurship, went on a Mission for Growth in South East Asia in November 2013 with a delegation of 100 enterprises and representatives of associations of EU companies. The Mission had three main objectives: to promote innovation and sustainable and inclusive growth in the EU and in the visited countries; to help EU companies and in particular SMEs to operate in the ASEAN region; and to promote the EU industry in targeted sectors by participating in matchmaking events with local entrepreneurs. On 13 November, Antonio Tajani was in Hanoi, Vietnam, where he met Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, Vietnamese Prime Minister, as well as Vũ Huy Hoàng, Vietnamese Minister for Industry and Trade, Hoàng Tuấn Anh, Vietnamese Minister for Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Bùi Quang Vinh, Vietnamese Minister for Planning and Investment. With Hoàng Tuấn Anh, Antonio Tajani signed a letter of intent on cooperation in the field of sustainable tourism, and, with Bùi Quang Vinh, he signed a letter of intent on small and medium enterprises.
