Participation of Dacian Cioloș, to the Danube Rectors' Conference & Annual meeting, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania

On 7 November 2013, Dacian Cioloş, Member of the EC in charge of Agriculture and Rural Development, pronounced a speech at the annual meeting of the Danube Rectors Conference with the theme "Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Danube region ". The conference was organised at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca, in Romania. Johannes Hahn, Member of the EC in charge of Regional Policy, who could not attend the event, recorded a video message that was presented during the conference. In the margins of the event, the EC announced that she would approve 22 programmes to promote agricultural products in the European Union and in third countries. The total budget of the programmes, the grand majority of which will run for a period of three years, is 70 million euro, of which the EU contributes 35 million euro.
