Participation of Karel De Gucht in the Aspen Institute Conference on "Overcoming barriers to growth"
On 10 October 2013, Karel De Gucht, Member of the EC in charge of Trade, participated in the Annual Conference of the Aspen Institute on "Overcoming barriers to growth", in Prague, Czech Republic.
After a few words of introduction by Michael Žantovský, President of the Aspen Institute Prague, Karel De Gucht made a speech on "Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) – Solving the Regulatory Puzzle". A panel discussion then followed, moderated by Jiří Schneider, Czech First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, and with the participation of Karel De Gucht, Malcolm Harbour, Member of the EP (ECR, UK), Chair of the EP Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection, Peter Chase, Vice-President Europe of the US Chamber of Commerce, Jan Kohout, Czech Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Kojiro Shiojiri, Head of the Mission of Japan to the EU.
