Visit of Catherine Ashton to Cairo: 03/10/2013

Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the EC, visited Egypt on 2 and 3 October 2013. On 3 October, she met Abdel Fattah al-Sissi, Egyptian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Adli Mansour, President of Egypt ad interim, and Ziad Bahaa ElDin, Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for International Cooperation, in Cairo. The message Catherine Ashton conveyed during her visit was that violence should stop and that it was for all Egyptians to solve the country's political crisis in an inclusive manner.
