On 3 April 2013, José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, accompanied by Štefan Füle, Member of the EC in charge of Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, went to Prague where he met with Miloš Zeman, President of the Czech Republic. On this occasion, the President of the Czech Republic signed the amendment which clarified the legal base of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM). José Manuel Barroso also met with Petr Nečas, Czech Prime Minister.
