EU/Ukraine Summit with the participation of José Manuel Barroso
José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, participated in the 16th EU/Ukraine Summit with Viktor Yanukovych, President of Ukraine. Herman van Rompuy, President of the European Council, was also present. Political association and economic integration through a new Association Agreement was one of the main topics on the Summit's agenda. This agreement would bring concrete benefits to both EU and Ukraine's citizens, give Ukraine greater access to the world's biggest internal market and bring significant benefits in terms of increased trade, investment and real economic modernisation. Leaders also addressed energy relations, a visa liberalisation action plan, and other regional and multilateral issues.
