José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, received representatives from philosophical and non-confessional organisations to discuss intergenerational solidarity. Herman van Rompuy, President of the European Council, and László Surján, Vice-President of the EP, were also present. Around fifteen leading representatives of philosophical and non-confessional organisations met to discuss "Intergenerational solidarity: setting the parameters for tomorrow's society in Europe".
