Visit of Bidzina Ivanishvili, Georgian Prime Minister, to José Manuel Barroso
José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, received Bidzina Ivanishvili, Georgian Prime Minister. During the joint press conference the President said that Georgia was a key member of the Eastern Partnership and highlighted that the EU was keen in bringing the country closer to Europe. The best way to achieve this was to conclude negotiations on an Association Agreement, including a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area. José Manuel Barroso then add that both he and the Prime Minister hoped that the negotiations could be finalised in time for the 2013 Eastern Partnership Summit.
