67th United Nations General Assembly with the participation of José Manuel Barroso

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, went to New York where he participated in the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly. He notably attended the High Level Plenary Meeting on the Rule of Law. In his speech, the President highlighted that primary values of the EU were democracy, rule of law and respect for human rights. He then added that it was a priority for EU to work to strengthen the rule of law both at the international level and to uphold international law in the national systems.
