José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, received Traian Băsescu, President of Romania.
During the joint press conference, José Manuel Barroso made clear that all political forces in Romania, in government and in opposition, should act with responsibility and restraint and to set their focus very firmly on the urgent need to restore institutional and political stability.
The two Presidents also exchanged views on the situation in the EU and in the Euro Area including Commission proposals for the Banking Union and the Single Supervisory Mechanism.
