En raison de leur manque de compétences et d’expérience, les jeunes européens ont été fortement touchés par la crise économique. Aujourd’hui, un jeune sur cinq est au chômage. Le programme Youth@work vise donc à démontrer que grâce à leur ouverture sur le monde, les jeunes européens ont de l’énergie et des idées innovantes à mettre au service des entreprises!
En Suède, le taux de chômage chez les jeunes était de 24 % en 2010, soit un niveau assez élevé. Cependant, même si ces derniers ont tendance à être plus attirés par les firmes multinationales, 99.8% des entreprises suédoises sont des PME. Umbilical Design est l’une d’entre elles et Cécilia Hertz en est la fondatrice et directrice. Selon elle, ce sont généralement les jeunes de moins de 30 ans qui proposent les idées les plus créatives et soulèvent les questions les plus inattendues. Cela explique pourquoi elle les implique dans la plupart de ses projets.
