Employment in the Automobile Industry

The European automobile industry is going through many changes and must face up to technological and structural challenges. The European Commission is organising a Restructuring Forum session on the automobile industry which will take place on 17 and 18/10/2007. The Forum's objective is to promote European partnerships to anticipate changes in the automobile industry, to encourage dialogue between the different key players and to help them adapt to change so as to improve competition and employment in this sector. To illustrate this, the European Commission's audiovisual service is preparing an infoclip which will illustrate the following: - Assembly line employees, General Motors Belgium, Antwerp, Belgium - Mechanics repairing and servicing cars, Jaguar-Land Rover garage, Waterloo, Belgium.
