Extracts from the EPC Political Dialogue on "Regional cooperation in the Balkans - time for a new boost" with the participation of Štefan Füle
On 30 April 2012, Štefan Füle, Member of the EC in charge of Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, Anna Ibrisagic, Member of the EP, and Hido Biščević, Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), took part in the EPC Political Dialogue on "Regional cooperation in the Balkans - time for a new boost", in Brussels.
They discussed how the EU can contribute to the future of Regional cooperation in the Balkans. The development of strong ties and regular exchanges among the people and countries of the Balkans is essential for achieving lasting political stability and security, social and economic prosperity and for resolving the common challenges facing the region.
The speakers highlighted the need for a stronger monitoring of the Regional cooperation Council. They added that cooperation needs to be strengthened, as well as regional responsibility. SHOTLISTLINK
