Visit of Vjekoslav Bevanda, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to Štefan Füle: joint press briefing
On 9 March 2012, Štefan Füle, Member of the EC in charge of Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, met with Vjekoslav Bevanda, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the EC, in Brussels. On this occasion, they participated in a press point and discussed the situation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and its future European integration steps.
On 16 June 2008, the EU and Bosnia and Herzegovina signed the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) which will enter into force once its ratification process has been completed. An Interim Agreement on Trade and Trade-related issues, which was signed on the same day, entered into force on 1 July 2008. The European Commission launched a visa liberalisation dialogue with Bosnia and Herzegovina on 26 May 2008. A new European partnership with Bosnia and Herzegovina was adopted by the Council on 18 February 2008. On 1 January 2008, the visa facilitation and readmission agreements entered into force. The EU also continues to be present in Bosnia and Herzegovina within the framework of the Common Foreign and Security Policy and the European Security and Defence Policy.
