Visit of Enda Kenny, Irish Prime Minister, to José Manuel Barroso: joint press briefing
On 13 October 2011, Enda Kenny, Irish Prime Minister, paid a visit to José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, in Brussels. They discussed the economic crisis, Ireland's efforts towards fiscal consolidation and the preparation of the upcoming European Council. In its Roadmap to stability and growth, the European Commission unveiled proposals to solving the Euro zone debt crisis which included recapitalising European banks, measures to enhance EU economic growth and a tougher surveillance of national budgets. After their meeting, they held a joint press briefing.
