On 6 December 2010, José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, received George A. Papandreou, Greek Prime Minister, six months after a massive bail-out was agreed upon by Eurozone Member States for the country. After the visit, they held a joint press briefing on progress made by Greece on economic reforms. José Manuel Barroso underlined the significant progress has been made, particularly in reducing the fiscal deficit, on reliability of statistics and key reforms on pensions and the labour markets.
