Justice and Home Affairs Council: extracts from the joint press conference by Ivan Langer, Czech Minister for the Interior and President in office of the Council of the EU, and Jacques Barrot
Jacques Barrot, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Justice, Freedom and Security, and Ivan Langer, Czech Minister for the Interior and President in office of the Council of the EU, will lead a visit to Washington in March 2009, to get a maximum of information about Guantanamo detainees, in order to discuss how European countries can receive them. They gave a joint press conference in marge of Justice and Home Affairs Council held in Brussels, on 26 and 27 February 2009.
Ministers for the Interior of the EU consider that each Member State should take its own decision about accepting or not them, but at the same time agree on the need of having a common position. SHOTLISTLINK
