Séminaire de haut niveau sur "L'avenir de l'audit des finances publiques dans l'UE"
To mark its 30 years of existence, the European Court of Auditors organised a high-profile seminar on "The future of public audit in the European Union" in Luxembourg on 18 October 2007. Hubert Weber, President of the European Court of Auditors, and the Members of the Court, hosted a number of high ranking EU-level experts. These included Herbert Bösch, Member of the EP Chairman of the Committee on Budgetary Control, and Danuta Hübner, Member of the EC in charge of Regional Policy. The morning session was dedicated to debating "The challenges of auditing EU funds", while the afternoon session focused on "The future of public auditing and accountability". By looking forward and exchanging views on issues of common interest both for the audit and the management of public funds in the EU, the European Court of Auditors wishes to contribute to adding value to the use of these funds, to the ultimate benefit of the citizens of the Union.
