Soundbite by Alejandro Ramírez Magaña (in ENGLISH): There were 15 different topics, all very important, but at the same time very difficult to focus on a specific recommendation, when you have such a large group of themes. So this year we have decided to streamline and to focus on a narrower group of themes. And so we have identified the priorities, the 7 topics. Many of which are the same topics that will be addressed in the G20 Heads of State. Those are green growth, ICTN innovation, food security, trade and investment, employment, transparency and anti-corruption, and finally, financing for growth and development.

Soundbite by Alejandro Ramírez Magaña (in ENGLISH): We are trying to devise mechanisms for a proper and formal follow-up of the recommendations of the B20, and also of the commitments of the G20, because if you look at many of the final communiqués of several G20's, the same issues get repeated over and over, and as President Calderon has mentioned, in some issues like trade, in every communiqué they say "we should resist protectionism", but a couple of months after the Summit you see 15 out of the G20 nations putting protectionist barriers. So there has to be a follow-up mechanism, and I think this community could be one of the voices to help follow-up these commitments.

Soundbite by Dionisio Pérez-Jácome (in SPANISH) saying that he hopes that they can continue to attract investment projects, to share the technologic knowledge that is so important to Mexico, and opportunities; so that their work force, their scientists, their academics do not have to migrate to other parts of the world, and can dedicate their human capital for the elaboration of projects that will benefit all of them.
