Participation of Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the EC, in the launch of EU Cloud Scout

Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Digital Agenda, participated in the launch of EU Cloud Scout by DigitalEurope and Deutschland sicher im Netz e.V. (DsiN), a German public-private partnership. DsIN was represented by Christian P. Illek, CEO of DsIN. The European Cloud Scout was an on-line service aimed at helping SMEs to adopt cloud computing in their operations. The service invited them to fill out a confidential questionnaire designed to identify their main questions and concerns about moving to the cloud.
EU Cloud Scout was build after a German Cloud Scout launched in 2013 by DsIN which attracted considerable interest among German SMEs. EU Cloud Scout was initially launched free of charge in Austria, Hungary, Belgium, Spain, the United Kingdom and Finland, in addition to Germany, and it aimed to add all remaining EU countries in the list.
