Signature ceremony of the Horizon 2020 association agreements with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro and Serbia

Robert-Jan Smits, Director-General of DG "Research and Innovation" of the EC, Igor Davidović, Head of Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the EU, Abdilaqim Ademi, Minister for Education and Science of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Sanja Vlahovic, Montenegrin Minister for Science, Lindita Nikolla, Albanian Minister for Education and Sports, Srdjan Verbic, Serbian Minister for Education, Science and Technological Development, and Gheorghe Duca, President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, participated in the Signature ceremony of the Horizon 2020 association agreements.
Five Western Balkan countries and the Republic of Moldova secured full access to the European Union's new seven year research and innovation programme, Horizon 2020. All six countries have experience of cooperation on research and innovation with the EU through the seventh framework programme (FP7), and are seeking to build on this under Horizon 2020.
