Press conference by Baudilio Tomé Muguruza, Member of the European Court of Auditors, on the preferential trade arrangements

Baudilio Tomé Muguruza, Member of the European Court of Auditors, gave a press conference following the publication of the special report (No 2/2014) entitled “Are Preferential Trade Arrangements appropriately managed?”.
In this report, the Commission has appropriately assessed the economic effects of preferential trade arrangements (PTAs) and whether the controls thereon are effective in ensuring that imports cannot wrongly benefit from a preferential tariff, resulting in the loss of EU revenue.
The other participants were: Paul Stafford, Head of Unit at the European Court of Auditors, Carlos Soler Ruiz, Auditor at the European Court of Auditors, and Aidas Palubinskas, Press Officer at the European Court of Auditors.
