European Parliamentary Week: Interparliamentary Conference on Economic Governance of the EU

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, participated in the Interparliamentary Conference on Economic Governance of the EU during the European Parliamentary Week with Martin Schulz, President of the EP, Herman van Rompuy, President of the European Council, and Evangelos Meimarakis, Speaker of the Greek Parliament.
During his speech José Manuel Barroso notably highlighted that he believed the European Parliamentary Week had a very constructive role to play in bringing different voices and opinions together. He added that such a meeting of minds to foster the democratic foundations of the European Union was necessary.
