Visit of Johannes Hahn, Member of the EC, to Bulgaria

Johannes Hahn, Member of the EC in charge of Regional Policy, travelled to Sofia to discuss the cohesion policy for 2014-20. Bulgaria aims at focusing to become more competitive.
Johannes Hahn also visited the centre for chemistry and pharmacy where he met researchers and professors from the University of Sofia. How EU regional funds - including cofinanced projects like the Sofia Techpark - can help link business and research was a key topic. Innovation and research is this is one of the key priorities under the new regional policy 2014-20.
