Visit of Maria Damanaki and Dacian Cioloş, Members of the EC, to Romania
Maria Damanaki, Member of the EC in charge of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, and Dacian Cioloş, Member of the EC in charge of Agriculture and Rural Development, embarked on a two-day visit to Romania.
During the visit, they met with local stakeholders as well as the Members of the Romanian Government, including Daniel Constantin, Romanian Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Rovana Plumb, Romanian Minister for Environment and Forests, Liviu Dragnea, Romanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Regional Development and Public Administration, and Lucia Ana Varga, Romanian Minister for Water, Forests and Fisheries.
Maria Damanaki underlined the need to turn the recently adopted common fisheries policy (CFP) Reform into concrete results in the Black Sea and share ideas as to how best this can be achieved.
Maria Damanaki and Dacian Cioloş went to the Danube Delta in Sfântu Gheorghe, where they visited a local turbot fish farm.
