Visit of Toshimitsu Motegi, Japanese Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry, to the EC

Karel De Gucht, Member of the EC in charge of Trade, received Toshimitsu Motegi, Japanese Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry, to address the state of play of the on-going EU-Japan negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement. While the two parties had launched the negotiations for a comprehensive Free Trade Agreement in April 2013, Karel De Gucht met with Toshimitsu Motegi to prepare the upcoming EU-Japan Summit. They then held a joint press conference after their meeting.
