Visit of Catherine Ashton, Vice-President of the EC, to the United States

Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the EC, went to New York, where she met with John Kerry, US Secretary of State, and Ban Ki-moon, Secretary General of the United Nations. The Vice-President also attended bilateral meetings notably with several Prime Ministers and Ministers for Foreign Affairs.
On 26/09/2013 Catherine Ashton then participated in a meeting of the E3+3 on nuclear security, and in a meeting with the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of countries of the Eastern Partnership. The day after the Vice-President attended the Quartet meeting and an High Level Ministerial meeting on the role of regional organizations against the death penalty.
Catherine Ashton eventually participated in the 4th ministerial meeting of the Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF).
