Participation of Kristalina Georgieva, Member of the EC, at the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the Red Cross
Kristalina Georgieva, Member of the EC in charge of International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response, went to Geneva to take part in a high-level panel discussion on "the ethics and politics of humanitarian action". The other panellists included Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and António Guterres, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The event was part of the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the Red Cross. Kristalina Georgieva then toured the exhibition showcased in the new Museum of the Red Cross and Red Crescent. During her stay, she also met with Navi Pillay, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
