Participation of Karel De Gucht, Member of the EC, at the "Ryder Cup - one year to go" celebrations, and an event on the TTIP

Karel De Gucht, Member of the EC in charge of Trade, went to Edimburgh to participate in the celebrations organised in preparation for the next Ryder Cup which will take place in Gleneagles, in Perthshire. To mark the occasion, a steam locomotive dating from 1927 - the year in which the first Ryder Cup was held - came into Waverley Station in Edinburgh, launching a series of festivities that will be held throughout the years, until the official launch of the 2014 Ryder Cup. Among the guests were Alex Salmond, First Minister of the Scottish Executive, Tom Watson, Captain of the 2014 Ryder Cup United States Team, and Paul McGinley, captain of 2014 European Ryder Cup team.
Karel De Gucht then participated in an event on the theme of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), which was organised by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), in Scotland.
