Visit of Štefan Füle, Member of the EC, to Turkey

Štefan Füle, Member of the EC in charge of Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, embarked on a two-day visit to Istanbul to discuss Turkey's accession process to the EU. He met with Egemen Bağış, Turkish Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator for Turkey's accession negotiations with the EU, as well as with the representatives of civil society and think-tanks. Štefan Füle then pronounced a speech at the Conference "Rethinking Global Challenges". The conference was also an opportunity for a debate on medium term future for Turkey and reflections on lessons learnt from events of last few days.
