Visit of Kristalina Georgieva, Member of the EC, to Lebanon

Kristalina Georgieva, Member of the EC in charge of International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response, continued her three-day visit to the Middle East. After embarking on a visit to Jordan, she arrived in Lebanon and went to the Bekaa Valley, where she visited EC-funded projects for Syrian refugees and met with the Commission's main partners, including the staff of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Later she held separate meetings with Najib Mikati, Lebanese Prime Minister, and Wael Abou Faour, Lebanese Minister for Social Affairs in charge of coordination of Lebanon's response to the Syrian crisis.
