Visit of Catherine Ashton, Vice-President of the EC, to Mongolia

Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the EC, went to Ulaanbaatar where she participated in the 7th Ministerial Meeting of the Community of Democracies. The day after the Vice-President met with participants in the EU sponsored Womens' Leadership Forum.
Catherine Ashton then met with Luvsanvandan Bold. They signed the EU's Partnership and Cooperation agreement with Mongolia, paving the way for closer cooperation on economic, environmental and other issues. A Financing Agreement in Support of the Modernisation of Mongolia's Standardisation System was also signed.
