European Seafood Exposition 2013

Maria Damanaki, Member of the EC in charge of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, visited the European Seafood, the International fair of seafood products, which was held in Brussels from 23 to 25 April 2013, and on the same occasion, participated in the awards ceremony of the Olivier Roellinger Culinary Competition for Sustainable Seafood.
During this 21st edition, Maria Damanaki officially launched the new European Market Observatory for Fishery and Aquaculture Products (EUMOFA) at the European Seafood Exposition. The Observatory is an EU-wide interactive web-tool offering up-to-date data on volume, value and price of fisheries and aquaculture products throughout the supply chain, from when they land to port to when they are displayed on supermarket shelves.
