Visit of Karel De Gucht, Member of the EC, to Ireland

Karel De Gucht, Member of the EC in charge of Trade, embarked on a two-day visit to Dublin where he participated in an Informal Council of EU Trade Ministers, organised as part of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU. At the end of the meeting, a conference bringing together Richard Bruton, Irish Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and President in office of the Council of the EU, and Karel De Gucht, was organised. On the same day, Karel De Gucht also participated in a roundtable on EU/US Trade, which was co-organised by the Irish Business and Employers’ Federation (IBEC) and the association BusinessEurope. He then participated in another conference on trade organised by the Embassy of the United States in Dublin. On the following day, Karel De Gucht held a speech at the conference organised by the Institute of International and European Affairs.
