Press conference by Viviane Reding, Vice-President of the EC, on the EU Justice Scoreboard
Viviane Reding, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship, gave a press conference on the EU Justice Scoreboard. The Vice-President unveiled a new comparative tool to promote effective justice systems in the European Union and thereby reinforce economic growth.
The European Justice Scoreboard would provide objective, reliable and comparable data on the functioning of the justice systems in the EU’s 27 Member States. Improving the quality, independence and efficiency of judicial systems already formed part of the EU’s economic policy coordination process under the European Semester, which was aimed at laying the foundations for a return to growth and job creation.
