Visit of László Andor, Member of the EC, to Hungary

László Andor, Member of the EC in charge of Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, visited the village of Bódvalenke, located in the county of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, on the occasion of the International Romani Day which is celebrated on 5 April. Bódvalenke is a 95% Roma village, where Roma painters from Hungary and other European countries painted murals on the walls of the houses. It has since then become known as the Fresco Village.
During his stay, László Andor participated in the celebrations organised the International Romani Day, which included music and dancing performances on the streets of the village, introducing visitors to Roma culinary arts and the works of local artisans.
After the official celebration, László Andor met local and regional Roma leaders and representatives of major NGOs with Roma integration programmes.
