Visit of Hashim Thaçi, Kosovan Prime Minister, to the EC

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, received Hashim Thaçi, Kosovan Prime Minister. The progress of Kosovo and its relation with the EU and visa liberalisation were the main topics addressed.
During the joint press conference José Manuel Barroso highlighted that this visit was proof that Kosovo was realising its European perspective, and that the country was engaging constructively on the key issues that would determine its European future and the well-being of all citizens.
The President also emphasised that the year 2013 could see a decision on opening negotiations on a Stabilisation and Association Agreement – if the required progress was made.
