Visit of Johannes Hahn, Member of the EC, to Croatia

Johannes Hahn, Member of the EC in charge of Regional Policy, travelled to Zagreb to meet business representatives, key parliamentary committees and senior members of government; and to set out the opportunities future EU Regional Policy offer the country, as well as the challenges ahead. Regional funds will make up 70% of Croatia's public investment once the country joins the EU on 1 July 2013. That represents around 1 billion euro for jobs and growth – which must be targeted on key identified sectors to ensure effective and efficient use of the investment.
