Participation of Johannes Hahn, Member of the EC, at the conference entitled "Bringing Divided Communities Together - Sharing the Experience of the EU PEACE Programme"

Johannes Hahn, Member of the EC in charge of Regional Policy, welcomed the conference entitled "Bringing Divided Communities Together - Sharing the Experience of the EU PEACE Programme". He was joined by Martin McGuinness, Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland, Peter Robinson, First Minister of Northern Ireland, and Brendan Howlin, Irish Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform. Participants in three peace-building projects from Northern Ireland were also at the gathering to share their experiences. Their presentations were followed by a discussion on how far the Peace Programme's approach could be transposed to other parts of the world.
