Visit of José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, to Brazil

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, went to Belo Horizonte where he met with Alberto Pinto Coelho, Vice-Governor of Minas Gerais. The President then visited the Inhotim Institute.
On 24/01/2013 José Manuel Barroso participated in the 6th EU/Brazil Summit with Dilma Rousseff, President of Brazil, and Herman van Rompuy, President of the European Council. The leaders agreed to set-up a joint committee that would help to further exploit the potential of bilateral trade and investment between Brazil and the EU. They also reaffirmed their commitment to deepen the trade ties with the entire Mercosur common market.
José Manuel Barroso then received the Grand Collar of Merit of the Brazilian Court of Accounts (TCU).
