1st day events after the award of the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize® to the EU

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, and Martin Schulz, President of the EP, went to Oslo to participate in the 1st day events after the award of the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize® to the EU. First they met with Jens Stoltenberg, Norwegian Prime Minister. The leaders exchanged views on economy, energy security and fight against climate change. During the joint press conference José Manuel Barroso recalled the natural interconnection between the EU and Norway, not only in trade, as 80% of Norwegian exports go to the EU, but also for example in terms of energy and other areas.
José Manuel Barroso then met with Sarah Jessica Parker, American actress, and Gerard Butler, British actor.
